ASPEK Indonesia Women National Congress, 7 June 2008 and ASPEK Indonesia Youth National Congress, 8 June 2008. Both Congress was held at Balai Pustaka Building, Jakarta, Indonesia which was attended by members/afiliates of ASPEK Indonesia. During the congress, the committee reported their activities in creating awareness on the needs of having a trade union, issues on protection of workers, the continues need to conduct training courses to gear up their knowledge as well as the need to continue to stay ahead of the challenges faced by workers due to the regionalisation and globalisation of the country. In each of the Congress, both the women and youth committee elected a new committee to carry out the respective aims and objectives of the committee for the next 3 years which is basicly to strenghten the existing trade union structure and organising more workers into the trade unions. We congratulated the new teams.
