The Fourth National Congress of ASPEK Indonesia was held on 19-20 July 2008 in Perumnas Jakarta, Indonesia and ended successfully with the election of the new leadership for 2008-2011.

The slogan for the Fourth term of the Congress of ASPEK Indonesia is “Solidarity for Workers”.

The Congress was attended by 43 delegates and 70 other observers from ASPEK Indonesia affiliates.

Brother Muhamad Hakim was democratically elected as the President of ASPEK together with Brother Muhamad Rusdi as the General Secretary.

Brother Hakim is the President of Hero Union Workers (Commerce Sector) while Brother Rusdi was previously the Director of Trade Union Care Center at Aceh, helping people in Aceh to recover from the impacts of tsunami. From 2003 to 2005, he was also the President of Aksara Grapika Workers Union and soon later became the Head of the Training Division in ASPEK Indonesia.
