The main focuses during the meeting were the financial, economic and employment crisis, as well as the Green New Deal and a Social Contract for Europe.

UNI europa Executive Committee showed its determination to fight the crisis and protect employment and took several initiatives in this direction: UNI europa will fight the decrease in social spending happening in various European countries, it will promote the visibility and interests of precarious and self employed workers and it will further looking into green jobs in the services sector.

The two days’ presentations and discussions saw successful results and all the proposed resolutions were adopted, some with integrated amendments.

Among the invited external speakers UNI europa welcomed both the General and the Confederal Secretaries as well as Jean-Paul Tricart, Head of Unit, European Commission, responsible for the social dialogue.

The Executive Committee also expressed its support to workers on strike at the European Central Bank and committed itself to support their Colombian colleagues in their fight for free trade unions and against the signature of a Free Trade Agreement between EU and Colombia.
