During his recent stay in Korea for the UNI MEI film workers seminar, UNI-MEI President Heinrich Bleicher-Nagelsmann met with the President of the National Union of Media Workers Union, NUMW who is currently leading a campaign to defend the independence of media and freedom of speech. NUMW recently held a special congress and adopted a motion to go on a strike, immediately after the ruling party submitted the bill to the plenary session of National Assembly. Bleicher-Nagelsmann reaffirmed UNI MEI’s commitment to support the union in its struggle and solidarity actions since then were undertaken. Heinrich Bleicher-Nagelsmann also spoke at a rally of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions KFCTU to call for the government's alternative plan to solve Ssangyong Motor company restructuring delivering a solidarity message from UNI Global Union.
