UNI Post & Logistics UK affiliate, the CWU, have a major dispute with Royal Mail over their modernisation programme and downsizing without proper negotiation with the union.



The CWU advise that after many days of local strike action in different parts of the country the national postal membership voted overwhelmingly to take strike action against the actions of Royal Mail. The national strike action began on 22 October with a two day stoppage of work and is being followed by a three day stoppage of work beginning on 29 October. Despite intensive negotiations mediated by the TUC it has not been possible to reach a resolution to the dispute. The strike action has been supported by 95% of the CWU's postal members



The postal membership of CWU is determined to win their struggle against a bullying employer. The many messages of support that have been received from unions and individual postal workers around the world have strengthened the resolve of CWU members. The union are truly grateful for these messages which will be published to all members via the CWU website.
