Metro CC management was informed that the bargaining committee had been established and management was requested to start bargaining in the store #16, Kiev. Official letters were sent to the acting CEO of Metro CC Ukraine as well as to the director of the store #16.

“For two years Zahist Praci has been fighting to have the company start a collective bargaining process. Management has used every pretext to postpone its beginning, but today they have no more justifications to avoid bargaining with us” – says Vladimir Demyan chairman of the TU organization at Metro CC Ukraine.

A new local organization of Zahist Praci was established at the same time in store #10 which had been the first Metro CC hypermarket in the country. Natalia Kaminskaya, who is a cashier in store #10 was elected chairman of the local TU committee in the store. She proposed officially to the store director to start collective bargaining in the store.

The trade union has already informed store management about who will represent the TU in the bargaining commission and have proposed the agenda of the negotiations, stressing problems which are the most urgent for the store’s employees to get solved.

Zahist Praci hopes, that Metro CC Ukraine management will consent to the legitimate claim of the trade union and that the

collective agreements will be signed in the both stores in the nearest future.
