After prolonged negotiations about establishing similar working- and salary conditions in the different brands of the group owning Migros Tez-Koop-IS Union decided on 28th September to take out a strike-warning. The strike would have come into effect only on 24th November as Turkish labour law requires a legal process to be finalised before a strike legally can begin.
On 20 November 2009 , Gursel Dogru , president of Tez-Koop-Is Union made a press release and announced that with its 13.200 members working in Migros Tez-Koop-Is Union would start a strike on 24 November 2009. Faced with the possibility of a nationwide strike the company asked to meet Tez-Koop-IS Union and after just two days a new collective agreement had been signed.
