Just announced – valuable cash awards for young people in 2010
The Print Futures Awards sponsored by the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF), Unite the union and the Printers’ Charitable Corporation (soon to be known as the Printing Charity) have been launched for 2010.
The programme was set up to help young people fund their training for a career in the UK printing and graphic arts industries. Awards of £2,500 each are available to young people aged 16-30 years who are resident in the UK.
The closing date for entries is 9th April 2010 and interviews for those shortlisted will be held in May and June. The awards will be presented on 20th July in London.
Applications are also welcome from those already undergoing company training. Successful applicants in this category will receive an award of £1,250, with the balance of £1,250 to be met by their employers.
Dale Wallis, BPIF’s membership director, said: “We are delighted to launch the Print Futures Awards for the seventh year. In these tough economic times, it is crucial that we help young people to secure funding for their training in print and the graphic arts.”
