The meeting was hold as a part of the “Decision for life” project of the UNI Global Union, and ITUC. About 360 women attended it.



“The interest of the young women to our DFL activities is very high. It proves, that we are on the right path”, - says Jamaladdin Ismailov, the vice president of Khidmat Is, which is an affiliate of UNI.



Ajnur Safieva, the vice-chair of the State committee on childhood and motherhood policy, has also taken part in the meeting. She presented the government’s policy on gender equality promotion and women’s interests’ protection. She welcomed the commitment of Khidmat Is to uphold these issues. .

Jamilya, office-manager:

- This DFL seminar was very interesting for me. It was the first time I got to know about my labor rights and about the guarantees for the working mothers. No I’m ready to demand from the employer to respect my rights. And I’m sure that the trade union is very important to help me assure my rights. That’s why I have joined Khidmat Is trade union after the seminar.

- The DFL project is very useful, but, of course, the results depend on every participant, on her readiness to fight for her rights.

- The support of the professional development of the young women is very important for us, and its great that it is one of DFL goals. A young woman in Azerbaijan, who is eager to become professional, and to build a career, has to overcome a lot of prejudices. We should change it.



Sevinge - manager:

- The young woman faces a lot of obstacles in her professional life. That’s why the DFL project is extremely important, and I would like, that as many young women, as possible, could get information and support from it.
