Bogota. The Union of Workers of the Company Prosegur in Colombia (SINTRAVALORES) has publicly denounced a series of maneuvers on the part of the company’s management which impair the validity of the collective agreement and affects a series of benefits of the company’s workers.



Teófilo Gómez Duarte, President of SINTRAVALORES has directly pointed his finger at the manager of the Company, Yago Palao, who’s been said to be exerting pressure on the workers to sign documents elaborated in advance, in which they declare their supposed will to renounce the benefits of the collective agreement.



Facing the serious denouncements, on August 18^th, SINTRAVALORES exercised its legitimate right to protest, and carried out a mobilization in front of the company’s headquarters. This was a clear proof of the union organization’s determination to confront the illegal actions of Prosegur Colombia.



Apart from this pressure the management is exerting on the workers in relation to the collective agreement, there are other actions which are taking place aimed at weakening the worker’s organization.



In the face of these denouncements, the Regional office of UNI Americas expresses strong rejection towards the anti union behavior of Prosegur Colombia and firmly expresses its will to support SINTRAVALORES, with the conviction that the worker’s rights embodied in the collective agreement must be fully respected.
