As part of the workshop on Occupational Health and Safety held in Nairobi a visit was arranged to a local flexible printers ‘General Printers’ who specialize in food and non food products.



The plant was modern and was of a very high standard with accreditation in ISO 9001.



The group met with the site safety committee as well as the Union’s shop steward, the plant has about 100 production workers and is organized by the Kenyan Graphical Union KUPRIPUPPA.



Following the tour of the plant there was a discussion about the way in which the committee operated and delegates discussed among themselves their observations and prepared a report for the company arising from their visit.



The Company welcomed the visit and looked forward to the feedback from the observations.



The OHS workshop was the final workshop in the project which has been supported by LO FTF and the Danish Graphical affiliate HK/Privat and UNI Graphical & Packaging.
