Workers and trade unionists from all over Europe came to Brussels to say "No" to the austerity measures that are being adopted in so many European countries. UNI Europa was part of the demonstration and marched with an orchestra travelling on a flat bed truck. At the same time other actions were held across Europe in coordination with the Brussels manifestation. In Spain some 10 million workers took part in a general strike. The message was loud and clear, recovery plans must focus on growth and job creation not only cutting public spending.
