Solidarity Statement on TV globo de Sergipe





The 3rd UNI Global Union World Congress, Nagasaki, 10 – 12 November 2010 repudiates strongly the attitude of TV Globo Sergipe Brasil, which dismissed two union leaders legitimately elected by their colleagues, in a legitimate and democratic election process.



The measure taken by the management of the company is a retaliation of union activities of the dismissed leaders. The act is serious and it demonstrates the management’s intolerance and incapacity to maintain faithful relations with the militant union and the representatives of the workers;



The decision is infringing the right provided for by the constitution and the ILO conventions undercutting the right of freedom of association and right to organise.



UNI Global Union demands the immediate reinstatement of union leaders to TV Globo of Brazil Sergipe.
