Trade unions and DHL Swiss management find an agreement

The Swiss unions UNIA and Syndicom and the DHL management have finally reached an agreement upon the jobs that were threatened. In fact, out of the 86 jobs that were at risk, 29 will be preserved: ten in Geneva and 19 in Basel. The 57 employees that will be dismissed will benefit from very “interesting conditions”, including indemnities. The situation between the trade unions and the DHL management had been tense for weeks as originally DHL refused to enter negotiations. However the unions have made the company come to the negotiating table as DHL’s economic situation could never justify the dismissal of 86 employees.
