On 25 July, 2011, during the 2nd "State of the Nation Address" (SONA) of President Nonoy Aquino in Batasan, Quezon City,

Philippines, the National Alliance of Broadcast Unions (NABU) participated in marching to Batasan with concern issues of the

Broadcast Industry.



NABU calls for



"NO to LABOR CONTRACTING"



"NO to OUTSOURCING"



"STOP UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES"



"NO to UNION BUSTING"



"RESPECT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS"



"YES to SECURITY OF TENURE"



"YES to PARTICIPATION in POLICY and DECISION MAKING"









Modern Technologies has made redundant, retrenched and crippled the labor force of the Broadcast Industry.

The Council of Leaders from the National Alliance of Broadcast Unions (NABU) are deeply concerned with the above

issues and would like President Aquino to hear their side and to take into consideration the plight of the Broadcast Workers

in the country. Most local Unions of NABU have been the victims of "UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES" and with managements

not respecting "THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS". This Has to be stopped.



The Collective Bargaining Agreements must be respected.



United as "One Heart, One Voice" the National Alliance of Broadcast Unions (NABU) led by the Council of Leaders from

GMA7, ABSCBN2, NBN4, TV5, RPN9, IBC13, GMAScenario and RADIO VERITAS ASIA supported by 2,500 union members

and broadcast workers took to the streets to voice out their concerns and sentiments.
