Malaysia Boleh is 'Breaking Through' again in IKEA

achieved by UNI MLC on 5th January 2012 when UNI-MLC,

IKANO Pte Ltd Employees Union and Ms. Helle Woldby the

Regional HR Manager of IKANO Retail Asia met for the first time

since the company has granted recognition to the IKEA Malaysia

Union on 8th December 2011 at the IKEA Office in Mutiara

Damansara, Selangor.



The establishment of such industrial relation took a lot of patience

as the workers had to establish a union and achieved the majority

of workers into the trade union before the recognition was granted.

The union leaders state that they are looking forward to build a

more vibrant place for the workers to establish better industrial

relationship and assist the company’s growth. They thanked

Bro Shafie BP Mammal who had assisted them every step of the way.



UNI MLC also thanked the trade union members for their solidarity

and firm support to establish a union to represent the workers and

their high motivation to ensure that they will be pro-active to bring a

win-win situation to both the workers and company. Special thanks

UNI Apro as their regional and global assistance to smoothen the
