PostLogistics SA is to cut 250 jobs. UNI’s Post & Logistics Swiss affiliate, Syndicom, condemns this totally unacceptable decision. Syndicom says that Swiss Post has failed to keep profitable the transport company Setz, whioch was once a flourishing logistics and storage company. Instead, PostLogistics SA was reorganized numerous times, which has shaken the operations of the company more than once.



Syndicom the union is aware that the field of freight logistics and storage is an industry whose working conditions are harsh and where worker protection is far from assured. Therefore PostLogistics SA was deemed exemplary with its unique collective labor agreement in the transport industry.



Swiss Post now intends to engage in sub contracting



PostLogistics SA plans to sack all its drivers and lease its vehicles to those sub contractors. In doing so, Swiss Post and its subsidiary beats all records of the bad habits of the transport industry and paves the way for sub contracting with precarious working conditions. Such employment policy is unacceptable from a state enterprise which the Swiss Government expects to behave as a socially responsible employer!
