UNI Global Union traveled to the headquarters of the Universal Postal Union on 9 January to congratulate the UPU's new leadership team at their installation ceremony. UNI Secretary General Philip Jennings, Head of Post & Logistics Stephen DeMatteo and former Head of P&L and Head of UNI SCORE Neil Anderson were on hand at the ceremony installing Bishar Hussein of Kenya as Director General and Pascal Clivaz of Switzerland as Deputy Director General.

UNI has congratulated Hussein and Clivaz on their election and called for a meeting with them to discuss UNI's priorities for the UPU's work in the next cycle. UNI is eager to continue the productive relationship it built with the UPU under the leadership of the outgoing Director General Edouard Dayan and former DG Tom Leavey who were both present at the ceremony as well.



Hussein and Clivaz were elected to their positions at the 25th UPU Congress held in Doha last October. Their terms will run through the 26th UPU Congress, to be held in Istanbul in 2016.
