The Kenyan Security Workforce is about to meet a new force. The Kenyan National Private Security Workers Union has set out an ambitious organizing plan, starting with G4S workers in Nairobi.





The plan aims to unionize many of the bigger Security Companies in Kenya. After training in March, and working together with UNI in order to secure funding for some of their activity, they have crafted an action plan. Now, they are ready to launch the campaign with new organizers, an office, leaflets and even a motorbike to aid them in the new initiative.



Security workers in Nairobi are able to join the union, which already has 40 registered activists in G4S. They will work with 4 new full-time organizers and a National Coordinator in order to make the campaign the first in a number of rolling campaigns. Funding has come from the UNI SCORE (Strategic Campaigns, Organizing, Research and Education) fund.
