On 9th July 2012, TV3 Malaysia Employees Union has successfully signed its 8th Collective Agreement 2011-2014.
In the presence of all TV3 & Media Prima top management and UNI-MLC President Mohd Shafie B.P Mammal as witness, the signing was completed between Media Prima Television Network Chief Operating Officer, Mr Izham Omar and TV3 Union President, Mr Khairuzzaman Mohammad.
31 out of 67 articles were revised to see improvements in 22 benefit/allowance related articles. Important articles related to salary adjustment and yearly increment have shown historical improvement with a first year increase of minimum 19.5% up to 42.5% within three year. Members can also now expect better benefits and wages, the choice of retiring later, and to receive proper skills training.
Specifically, minimum wages will increase and members of TV3 union will receive better benefits and an increase in allowances. On training, heavy vehicle driver allowance will be introduced to make sure drivers are properly trained and a new education allowance will be available for union members to buy books or magazine related to their designation. Retirement age will be also be raised to 58 years old and eventually to 60 years old.
TV3 union marked its 23rd year in March 2012 and its 242 members joined in celebrating the union's success, progress and achievements.
“This is a good beginning for our union. More things need to be worked on such as education, organizing members and towards to this aim, the TV3 Union committee will allocate about USD$6,700 for a 2 years education, development and enhancement programme for our members,” Khairuzzaman, President of KSKSTMB-TV3 Union.
